The thing about Christianising non-Western folklore is that people always pick the most boring and conventional Christian figures to syncretise. They’re all “okay, which one can I turn into Jesus?” or “which one is the Devil?” – it’s never “all right, which one is an analogy for that one prophet who fed children to bears because they made fun of his hair?”
